Create the goals with a friend so you can customize and also share inspiration with each other. Having a witness helps to formulate the goals and to make them happen. You can also agree to check in with your friend once a month to stay on track. It is OK to modify goals as you go along and it is also good to evaluate if you have excuses for not moving forward. Manifesting goals is easier when they are specific and small enough to do in increments that you know where to start each day. The following two columns shows you goal and intention statements, how to use "I am" and not negations. Gold star for, "I am smoke free, instead of "I am a non-smoker". Here's a link for 30 day, 1 Year & 5 Year Goal categories.
General with good intentions but not useful.

I am going to eat healthy.
Note, in the above example the statement is in the future. Our subconscious thinks that's when it will happen-some day. It is also non-specific with nowhere to start.

I am meditating.
Identify How, When, Where, and with Whom

I am eating diary three times a week. I am exercising three times a week at lunch times for 30 minutes. Also consider what you will need to support yourself to walk-walking shoes, coat, sunscreen or a gym membership, and/or a buddy.

I am meditating for 10-15 minutes on Sun, Wed & Fri, while listening to meditation music, in the big green chair, at 8:45 pm, before I read a book, and before I prepare for sleep.

We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”

How do you know when your intuition is functioning?

Some people have goosebumps when they know something is correct. Other people feel a chill. That's not how it works for me. When I meditate or when an idea comes to me that is only positive for all and in alignment with my purpose, my third eye, center of the interior of my forehead has a change that is like being touched with light.

What do you notice when your intuition is leading you somewhere?

    Empathy
Empathy exists within all cultures when someone feels and or internalizes the experiences of others. An empath does not need to touch others but feels the many different energies of individual people. If the empath does not recognize the need to separate and restore themselves, they may find themselves feeling overwhelmed. The empath may need to make their home their sanctuary to decompress from the emotional onslaught of their work environment and crowds. It is helpful for the empath to recognize they are empathic so they can be selective about who they have as a life partner and friends so they can manage their energy at home and recuperate. In childhood, an empath can absorb the energy of other family members, internalizing negativity as their own. A child may find they have illnesses that are really their sensitivity to the inability of the family to function well. This can result in the child’s internalization of feelings, which allows the family to stay intact while the individual manifests symptoms that can include mental and physical health issues. An empath may be directed to medication because they are considered chronically depressed, or another psychiatric diagnosis when, in fact, they need to learn methods to manage their boundaries and sensitivity. This can be disconcerting and cause for great personal review because of the lack of recognition of our connectedness, especially while sharing physical space. Empaths may have more mirror neurons, which allow resonation to occur. To read about mirror neurons, listen to neuroscientist Dr. Vilayanur Rmachandran on TEDTalks http://www.ted.com/talks/vs_ramachandran_the_neurons_that_shaped_civilization.html.

Although being an empath or empathic person can come with the feeling burdened by being around others, empathy can lead people to offer their unique skills to aid others. Empathy also has the unique ability to deeply feel and understand joy, encouragement, excitement, curiosity, enthusiasm, kindness, consideration, meditation and prayer, thoughtfulness, beauty, and sharing beingness with another person, animal or place.

The Healer Empath

Without Physical Contact

When empathic sensitivity is heightened, the healer can perceive without actually touching, but with their hands extended in front of a person who has come to receive a healing treatment. The sensor/empath uses their hands and hand chakras as sensitized perception tools. These instruments, translating and provide information. Awareness that can be perceived through the hand chakras are heat, coolness, tingling, thickness, a breeze, energy, emptiness, colors, illness, wellness, energy blocks within the body or room. Heightening awareness and the ability of sensing through the hand chakras is developed through practices in energy medicine studies.

The healer empath can also be the peson who understands by being in the presence of another, the emotional, physical, mental, and etheric/spiritual issues that are present. These people do not use their hands as sensors but listening to the energy as it is presented. The healer empath sometimes does not even know they are doing this.

With Physical Contact

This is the ability to perceive information from a person or object by touching the individual, or holding an object that belonged to the individual. Some intuitive healers receive information when they are in contact with the person they are working with that allows them to see and feel where the energy is blocked within the patient’s physical body. This can be related to many different levels of healing: muscular tissue congestion, meridian blockage, behavioral patterns, unreleased emotions, or accumulation of energy from past relationships and situations.

<![CDATA[Mother & Child's Energy Field]]>Sun, 11 May 2014 19:56:29 GMThttp://twi.education/energy-medicine-blog/mother-childs-energy-fieldPicture
The energy field of the normal and healthy mother & child is a significant relationship. This does not have to be biological, however, it frequently occurs when a child is physically born to a woman. The energy field of the mother extends from her own energy field to and over the baby’s energy field. This effect engulfs the child’s energy field although their energy field is completely developed and intact. When the baby is not with the mother the mother has a strong connection of energy that can engulf the baby even across the room. The energy field of the mother also remains strongly connected to the child no matter what the distance. The energy field in a healthy relationship does not smother the baby, or child by being overbearing or controlling but is attentive, protective, and connected. As the child grows older, the energy field of the child begins to differentiate more frequently. The mother’s energy field will continue to engulf the child’s when they interact.

<![CDATA[How does compassion appear and effect our energy system?]]>Wed, 23 Apr 2014 18:52:07 GMThttp://twi.education/energy-medicine-blog/how-does-compassion-appear-and-effect-our-energy-system
Our energy field is enhanced by the practice of compassion because compassionate energy opens our heart area. In the heart area compassion, kindness, gratitude, and forgiveness, as well as, grief and sadness are closely connected. Developing and practicing awareness of compassion allows us to extend this energy to others, and ourselves, which replaces neurological patterns of negative thought, which include negative criticism and judgment towards others and ourselves. This also replaces complaining, gossiping, and negative cyclic thoughts that can exponentially grow on their own.
In the energy field, negative energy is gray or gray/black. Congestion and contamination are linked to shame, guilt, blame, unresolved issues, disappointment, anger, feeling stuck, lack of fulfillment, and holding onto energy to punish self or others as power which is also known as being the victim. Any and all of the previous conditions can be linked to depression. These often manifest as negative self-talk, criticism of others, or over compensation by becoming over bearing and misuse of power.
The development of compassion helps to dissolve these negative influences in the energy field, which opens the space for health and healing. As this dissolution occurs, our energy field becomes more buoyant and receptive. This process is positively changing neurological habitual patterns, which can shift our physiology, positively changing how we think and feel.

What other aspects can we develop to assist our energy field in releasing negative energy? Gratitude, compassion, and forgiveness are strong allies that work together to positively unburden our energy system and open our hearts which can also help to lift depression.

*Developing gratitude, compassion, and forgiveness do not mean we do not have boundaries or stop taking action and making progress.

<![CDATA[Synchronicities]]>Sun, 09 Mar 2014 02:47:12 GMThttp://twi.education/energy-medicine-blog/synchronicitiesSynchronicities Picture
How do we know when we are being guided?
Listen for things that you hear more than once in the same day, week, or over a few weeks or longer. The synchronicities can be messages. Here is an example. I was driving to an appointment with someone I had never met. On the way, I was listening to the radio. The program was about a woman who had studied ravens. She is considered an expert and was telling information as well as stories people had shared with her about their experiences with the raven. The raven is considered wise and is part of some tradition's Creation stories. They also mate for life and keep family systems like humans. The raven is also considered a messenger. As I was listening and driving, there on the right side of the sidewalk were two ravens. Ravens have moved to Tucson in the last 10 years, but they are not in our area. Once in awhile I hear them fly overhead, but that is all. I knew this was unusual and more than coincidental. The radio program had also played a recent interview with Dave Bromberg, an accomplished blues musician. He had said, we have to help each other out because life is hard enough. When I arrived at the appointment, the woman repeated the same message, we are here to help each other out. The ravens on the road helped to bring my attention to the repetition of all the messages.
I am passing on the multiple layered messages. The raven story, seeing the ravens, the raven as messenger, and hearing the same message, we are here to help each other out, plus the informative occurrences were in proximity and related to the appointment. Noticing the synchronicities in your life will help you see where the energy is leading you. Consider what issues and activities are occurring in relation to the synchronicities, as well. I also figure if we don’t get the subtler messages we may have more in-your-face occurrences.
Thank you Raven.

<![CDATA[Question for the Fields of Light Application]]>Mon, 20 Jan 2014 23:36:54 GMThttp://twi.education/energy-medicine-blog/question-for-the-fields-of-light-applicationHi, Susan! My husband and I just watched your app "Fields of Light" and he had a question. How are the chakras impacted by intelligence? Or rather does intelligence affect your ability to achieve & maintain balanced & healthy chakras?"

Interesting question by your husband. Intelligence should be defined first. If we use the definition of intelligence that means connected to the self and the environment, which includes other people, in a whole way then, yes, the chakras would sustain more balance. If intelligence means conscious awareness of the chakras and their functioning and how to heal and manage the emotional, psychological system then the answer is yes.

But chakras are complicated. They are affected by emotional conditions like fear, and unresolved issues, trauma and consciousness development. The western IQ measure of intelligence would not apply for more balanced chakras. People in our culture who might be considered to have low intelligence, like with cerebral palsy, can have very balanced and healthy chakras. Also, I could say the chakras have their own intelligence because they can respond to 'things' that are beneath/beyond our conscious awareness.

Evidence of this can be seen in the work of Dr. Roger Nelson with the Global Consciousness Project. The Global Consciousness Project shows we, collectively, are influenced through our energy field, which includes the auric field, the chakras and other components. However, this is beyond our current, waking consciousness which is part of intelligence but beyond our awareness. During the spikes like before 9-11 and other events, the energy field and its components will shift, adjust and flare.
