Each year at this time we have the Give Away Ceremony. There are two parts to this ceremony. The first part involves taking some time to consider what you are ready to let go of. This includes that which no longer serves you in thoughts, words, actions, responses from the past, and relationships to self and others. Write these down on a piece of paper. You may burn this paper with others or alone. Make this a reverent experience and honor each person as they burn their paper. We do this by gathering around a small fire. Each person steps forward to burn their paper. One year we did this with magic paper that burns in a second, which is fun, and can demonstrate how we can change and let go in a twinkling. Consider the smoke and fire transforming these things as they are released away from you.
The second part of the Give Away is to write down that which you want to embody and send out to yourself and others this year. Tap into this by considering where you want to be next year at this time? How will you get there in thought, word, and deed? What energies do you wish to bring in? What will you change daily, weekly, monthly? What will you nourish to grow that you have already begun? What do you love about yourself, your friends, and family, and those who have p? What have you accomplished from last year? What blessings can you send to each person that you meet? Keep this somewhere to remind yourself and keep track of your progress. It is important to acknowledge each step in your journey.
